Open call – Project Chernivtsi

We welcome students of art colleges to participate in the summer art project in Chernivtsi (Ukraine). The event is designed for young artists who are able to execute new pieces during the project The final event of the project is an exhibition in Galeria Bunkier in Chernivtsi.
Media: installation, object, site specific, photography, painting, performance, action, video and others.

Curators: Waldemar Tatarczuk and Yaroslav Futymskyi

The organizers cover travel expenses from Poland to Chernivtsi, provide accommodation and meals, as well as basic resources for the execution of works.

The project is aimed at students from Poland and Ukraine. The selection of the participants will be made by the curators on the basis of the documentation sent.

Your application should include:
name and surname, date of birth
your university/school/studio and the name of the studio supervisor/director, year of studies
portfolio or documentation of works

Chernivtsi is a town of a huge cultural potential, the largest urban centre of Bukovina. The location of the town influenced its entire history – often invaded by Tatars and Turks, it was a part of Austria, Russia, Romania, USSR and now – of Ukraine and situated in a close proximity of the border with Moldova and Romania, near Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. Famous people who were born include a visionary architect Frederick Kiessler, a Holocaust poet Paul Celan, an eccentric psychologist Wilhelm Reich.
