The plot sets off in 1915. Sculptress Camille Claudel is put in a psychiatric institution, where she is to spend 30 years of her life and thus never to sculpt again. Abandoned by family and tormented by her obsessions, she is torn between paranoia and apathy. The script was based on the letters which Camille and her brother Paul wrote to each other and the medical records.
