How did wy get here? – Filip Kijowski to perform at Galeria Labirynt

The performance by Filip Kijowski is going to take place at Galeria Labirynt on June 19th at 6:00 p.m. The dancer and choreographer is going to come to Lublin for a week-long artistic residence to present his activities at the “Façade” exhibition.

Through performative activities, the artist overcomes barriers and wants to get as close to the viewers as possible, moreover, he encourages them to act together. He is interested in the issue of finding freedom in movement through improvisation. At the “Façade” exhibition, Filip Kijowski is going to present the relationship between his body and the sculpture by Sosnowska. “I associate the façade itself with skin and a kind of coating. I see the façade as a metaphor for being imprisoned, left with one’s own desires. I wonder what freedom is, how much we can afford, where the limit of freedom is. I would like to answer these questions through my body,” says the artist.

Kijowski is going to spend one week in Lublin rehearsing, reflecting and experimenting. All these to appear on Friday June 19th in front of the audience at the gallery at ul. Popiełuszki 5.

Filip Kijowski is a choreographer and a dancer. In his artistic practice he deals with improvisation, uses text and focuses on integration with the audience.
