Yoga Against Fascism

Galeria Labirynt, ul. Popiełuszki 5
Admission fee: PLN 5 / person

Galeria Labirynt crosses borders of art, communication barriers, and mental limitations. All those strongly opposing intolerance and lack of critical thinking are invited to a series of meetings with “against fascism” motto. We offer to spend time together with creative, open, and energetic people. An event accompanying “Three plagues” exhibition.

Sanskrit word “yoga” means, among others, to connect – that is why we offer a common yoga practice, thus placing ourselves in opposition to the growing divisions in our society. Let’s treat the asana exercise as meditation in motion. Practising it, one can achieve attentiveness, focus, and reflection postulated by artists and curators of the exhibition. Let’s relax our bodies, stretch our muscles, improve our posture – we are going to give our bodies a break after work. Contrary to xenophobic moods, we are going to use yoga – the wisdom of India. The same country, that in their history has experienced the plagues from the title of the exhibition, and which can be associated with Mahatma Gandhi and “passive resistance” – a form of civil disobedience, as well as with growing nationalism under the rule of Narenda Modi.

Participants are asked to bring a comfortable outfit and a mat. Please contact us in advance if you do not have a mat.
