Klub sztuki beuys

The Art Club

Open meetings at which issues related to art are discussed. “Has contemporary art any visible social implications? Is it possible to see or to verify the effect of artist’s activities? Has art any political meaning – other than being a scapegoat for populists? And, first and foremost, why asking such questions is today believed to be an attempt to kill the sense of art?” – that was the beginning of Artur Żmijewski’s manifesto Stosowane Sztuki Społeczne (Applied Social Arts). Engaged art reaching beyond artistic purposes will be the topic of Club’s next meeting. Should art support a particular ideology or react to changes in socio-political reality?
