The conference concerns the relations between music and visual arts and architecture. It gathers musicologists, historians of art, architecture, art theory and aesthetics of the most important Polish research centres. The core theme of the conference is the question of the possible unity of the arts, the power and value of interactions between them, as well as the question of the cognitive role of imagination, creating the power of artistic expression and the beauty of fictional worlds, whose role in human life has long ceased to be identified with any form of pure aesthetic experience.

Among the themes discussed we may find: formal analogies between painting and music, the impact of music theory on the theory of the visual arts and architecture, the relations between text, image and music in opera pieces, the role of music in films devoted to artistic creativity, discussion on the thesis of the ritual origins of arts, the place music as the language of the absolute in the philosophy of art, moving the quality of the experience of music pieces into the field of reception of architecture and painting.
