Mikołaj Kowalski was born in 1991 in Lublin and is a last year graduate of the Faculty of Arts at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. Nothing Special is his first individual exhibition and aims to present works executed in the period between 2015 and 2017. Kowalski pays close attention to the visual sphere of his paintings, continuously experimenting on their form and the structure of the paintings’’ matter. Equally vital for him is the subject of his works – the landscape of the everyday life derived from the observation of the surrounding world, slightly melancholic, with elements of subtle humour and playing with the viewers’ perception.
