Galeria Labirynt invites to a guided tour of the exhibition: Mykola Ridnyi – Facing The wall in Ukrainian. The tour will be guided by Valerie Karpan in Ukrainian.

Mykola Ridnyi is one of the most original figures of contemporary Ukrainian art. He belongs to the generation which appeared after the Orange Revolution. He represented Ukraine at the Venice Biennale twice and in 2015 he was invited by Okwui Enwezor to participate in the main exhibition – All the World’s Future – of the 56th Biennial. In his pieces Ridnyi comments on the social and political reality.

In Galeria Labirynt, Ridnyi is presenting monumental installation filled with his works executed within recent five years. Among them, visitor are going to find Regular Places (2015) video dedicated to a confrontation of Maidan and Antimaidan and the most recent Grey Horses (2016), depicting a convoluted story of the artist’s grandfather, Ivan Krupski – an anarchist active at the beginning of the 20th century. It is the first such complex presentation of the artist’s output in Poland.
