Iron Jewed Angels – movie screening and discussion

To commemorate the anniversary of  women gaining voting rights Galeria Labirynt is going to screen a film on a group of American suffragettes active during the end of 19th century and at the beginning of 20th, entitled Iron Jewed Angels, (directed by Katja von Garnier, USA 2004, 125′). The screening is going to be followed by a discussion with Magdalena Długosz, Magdalena Łuczyn, Agnieszka Ziętek, Julita Juros (panel moderator) on the presence of women in a public discourse.

Panelists:

Magdalena Długosz – a member of Razem Party and an assistant profesor at the Institute of Culture Studies at UMCS. She is a co-organiser and a co-conductor of protests and meetings in public life.

Magdalena Łuczyn – a member of Lublin branch of the Political Critique organisation, a philosopher, activist, feminist, culture manager, an organiser of numerous events in Lublin within the field of social issues as well as culture and art.

Agnieszka Ziętek – a lecturer in the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of Politics at UMCS, she deals with the issues in the fields of sociology, political science and theory of culture and where these overlap; she conducts research (qualitative and quantitative) in the field of cultural and equity politics as well as the social influences of art.

Julita Juros – vice-chairwoman of the HerStory foundation, antidiscrimination coach, activist, feminist.
