The Hevreh Ensamble are performing in Lublin!

PATH OF LIGHT | A Collaboration with Loli Kantor and Hevreh Ensemble

An exciting and innovative muti-media collaboration will be presented with Hevreh Ensemble and the photographer Loli Kantor. The project titled “Path of Light” includes original works by Hevreh member and composer Jeff Adler and a video projection that will incorporate images from Loli Kantor’s “Beyond the Forest – Jewish Presence in Eastern Europe 2004- 2012”.


The New York-based Hevreh Ensemble is going to fill Galeria Labirynt with unique music which combines a great richness of sounds. Classical, jazz and world music elements intervene resulting in a very special musical effect. Their concerts are wildly enjoyed by audiences in the USA and in Europe. Tickets are available from Friday, June 1st, 2018.

The Hevreh Ensemble was established in 2004. It is formed by:

Jeff Adler – the composer, playing the bass clarinet, Indian flute, percussion;
Judith Dansker – oboe, oboe d’amore, English horn, Indian flute;
Laurien Friedman – clarinet, Indian flute, shofar, percussion;
Adam Morrison – keyboard.

The music of the Hevreh Ensamble is inspired by Jewish spirituality. The members refer to the values of religious and ethnic tolerance and environmental balance. The concert is to be accompanied with a presentation of photos from Lola Kantor’s book Beyond the Forest – Jewish Presence in Eastern Europe 2004-2012.

Loli Kantor is an Israeli/American photographer whose work centers in personal, community and cultural memory. In 2004 Kantor, the daughter of Holocaust Survivors,both Polish Jews (mother from Bochnia and father from Czestochowa), began exploring the subject of Jewish presence and absence in eastern Europe. Kantor’s work has garnered numerous awards and is included in museum collections including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Lviv National Museum,Ukraine; the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin and the Lishui Museum of Photography in China.
