Zines Against Fascism

Galeria Labirynt crosses borders of art, communication barriers, and mental limitations. All those strongly opposing intolerance and lack of critical thinking are invited to a series of meetings with “against fascism” motto. We offer to spend time together with creative, open, and energetic people.
In times of increasing propaganda, conspiracy theories, fake news, and private media, we need zines. Zine (short for magazine) is an amateur small-circulation issue on a selected subject.

The fact that the form is open, changes the borders of our thinking about how ideas can be conveyed to the reader. By creating zine, we find ourselves in a situation where all kinds of restrictions can be used as an asset, which significantly affects the final result of our work.
Participants of the workshops are surely going to find out that working on a zine can be an adventure as unpredictable as situation of tourists kidnapped in exotic countries who do not know what is going to happen to them before they are kidnapped.

During the workshop, participants are going to learn about the principles of editorial office and create together a zine inspired by “Three plagues” exhibition. We would like to invite people who, regardless of the skill level, write, draw, take photographs etc., as well as those who do not do any of these.
If you need something to participate in the workshop, feel free to come you with your own equipment*.

*We provide Instax Mini cameras that you can play with if you bring your own films.
