ROMAN STAŃCZAK

Cupboards is a simple, commonplace piece of furniture, which the artist has stripped of its surfaces, leaving their remains around like sloughed skin. By using sculpture techniques in such a twisted way, he has reversed the creation process to achieve a surreal effect. The aim of this procedure – to divest the object of its outer layers – is a magical transformation of the everyday.
