SLAVS AND TATARS

The Slavs and Tatars collective covers a geographical and cultural territory stretching from the former Berlin Wall in the west to the Great Wall of China in the east. The group’s projects confront seemingly opposing or incompatible concepts, such as Islam and Communism, metaphysics and humour, pop culture and geopolitics. PrayWay is a reference to the flying carpets of Eastern fairy tales, and a typical example of the group’s interactive relational works, intended to create a space for meetings and conversations, a place for intercultural communication and sharing thoughts.
