During the meeting, you will be able to meet the next person we are hosting for an artist residency as part of the Lublin Station program. Alena Grom is a Ukrainian artist and documentary photographer originally from Donetsk. She works at the intersection of conceptual photography and social reportage. At the meeting she will present her creative path.

In April 2014, Alena left her hometown due to the Russian occupation of eastern Ukraine, which influenced the direction of her work. One of the main themes of her work is life in spite of everything. Since 2016, she has focused on people and places affected by Russian aggression. Since 2017, she lives in Bucza. Alena Grom’s projects have been exhibited in Ukraine, the US, various locations in Australia, Europe and Asia. Her work has been honored with many international photography awards and prizes.

The Lublin Station residency program is organized in cooperation with Artsvit Gallery in Ukraine.
