IMPROVISA – Life in Motion is a two-year project that is traveling internationally across Europe. Galeria Labirynt takes part in this project, the aim of which is to bring culture to people who, for various reasons, have difficult access to museums or art galleries.

These are, for example, migrants, residents of villages and towns remote from cultural centres, or people imprisoned in penitentiaries. The second group is young people who are just becoming culture aware. Improvisa also supports artists, museologists and gallery staff in facing the changing requirements of the present day in order to enable them to effectively reach audience. The project searches new forms of activity focused on art, places importance on reinterpreting culture and strengthening intercultural communication. For this purpose, it uses digital and mobile technologies.

The programme involves a series of 72 workshops in three European Union cities (Athens, Ljubljana and Lublin), a series of art residencies, specialised training, the implementation of mobile tools and the development of new art-based proposals, thanks to the joint, creative Improvisa laboratory.

IMPROVISA – Life in Motion lasts from October 2020 to October 2022. The project is co-created by five European organisations: Documenta Creaciones Multimedia Avanzadas SL in Barcelona, ECCOM Centro Europeo per L‘organizzazione il Management Culturale in Rome, National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) in Athens, National Museum of Contemporary History (MNZS) in Ljubljana and Galeria Labirynt in Lublin.
