How do transgender people’s daily lives in Poland look like? How does the cis-heteronormative system affect their experience of reality? These, and other questions, will be answered by the authors during a guided tour. They will share their experiences and the inspiration for their works. The event will also be an opportunity to learn about the process of creating the exhibition and discuss the topics presented in it.
When: 26/08/2023 (Saturday), 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Where: Azyl Library (former Galeria Labirynt | Plaza) ul. Lipowa 13, Lublin (entrance from ul. Ofiar Katynia)
Accessibility: The exhibition is held on the ground floor in a space free from architectural barriers. One of the films in the exhibition may be unfriendly to people with sensory hypersensitivity. There is a heavily flashing light in the work.

Moderated by: Ariel Michalak, curator of the group exhibition “Don’t Make It Up, You’ll Get Over It Anyway” and the participating artists.
Ariel Michalak (he/him) – a transgender socially engaged artist. He is an enthusiast of East Asian cinema and his artworks are inspired by Japanese and Chinese painting. Ariel believes that every single person is an endless work in progress. He advocates for the rights of the transgender and non-binary community in Poland and believes that art can revolutionize the world. His main motivation is the idea of unfettered freedom.
