About event

Modern anthropocentric worldview has back-burnered our concern for the safety and wellbeing of our planet. We forget that humans have always been dependent on nature and rules governing it. We have been hibernating far too long, lulled by the illusive sense of the Earth’s permanence.
In reality, nature and climate are changing right in front of our own eyes. Will we ever rouse from the safe passivity of a bear’s dream?

“A Bear’s Dream” is a virtual VRChat exhibition, taking place through the intermediary of an online social platform designed to generate virtual worlds. Feel invited to join us in the digital exhibition space of the Labirynt Gallery in Lublin. Access to the VRChat platform is available to all Microsoft Windows users. This enables a full exhibition experience without leaving one’s home.
All the works on display serve as a topical pretext for further reflection on our relations with nature. A virtual tour of the exhibition enables one to watch films, see photographs, paintings, and drawings, take a look at the surrounding world from a diversity of perspectives, and consider the human condition in the times of the climate crisis.
All the works are accompanied by English and Polish descriptions and bilingual audio files.
Not unlike a living organism, the exhibition will be evolving. Based on the formula of the open call, the virtual exhibition will be expanded over time, as works will be successively added until mid-December.
